WEAVING IN ILOCOS
One of the best things known in the Philippines is their culture and traditions. Even we, Filipinos ourselves, know that our country is rich in cultures that we have been preserving for so long. We are known to be one of those countries that are well known for our heritage and background. We have this diverse series of cultures that hold different focuses and specialties that mostly differ in areas in our country. From the materials that we do, up to the sceneries that we have, all these are treasures of our heritage.

Among all cultures that we uphold, there is one that gets the eyes of many. It is the culture of weaving. From the region of Ilocos, in the northern part of the Philippines, the home of Abel is located.
Abel = To Weave
Abel Iloko is a known traditional form of weaving here in our country that uses hands and looms to create a masterpiece. One can interpret Abel as a distinct Ilocano textile, having a plain or patterned layout that is handwoven on traditional wooden looms using weaving techniques that are passed down from generation to generation.
